HOTEL DESCRIPTION
Nestled amid extensive gardens in central Swanage, less than 300 metres from the seafront, this hotel combines traditional country house atmosphere with modern amenities. All of the en suite accommodation offers either sea or garden views, and is divided between the main Purbeck House (constructed in 1875) and the recently built Louisa Lodge, which sits mere metres away. Occupying 3.5 acres of land, the grounds and site buildings incorporate many artifacts acquired from London by George Burt, one of the founders of the Mowlem construction company and the house’s creator. With a large car park, and both a restaurant and bar in the main house, this is an excellent base from which to explore Swanage and the sights of the Jurassic Coast, with Bournemouth just 24 km (15 miles) away.
