Gallery 1 invites you to an exhibition of three artists | PRAGUE 1 | News
Ceramics, glasswork, flowers or artwork. This is the new exhibition of Gallery 1, which is called Botanica. They introduce themselves in that one works by three Czech authors. Despite the fact that each of them focuses on something different, the exhibition complements the whole.
“It’s a rather exceptional exhibition in that three artists have come together and it’s exceptional in that it shows that art is alive, it’s simply modern art here, on the other hand, the dry bindings are a certain tradition. So modern art complements tradition,” said Petr Burgr, representative of the Prague 1 municipal council.
Paintings by the artist Karel Štědré are a prominent part of the exhibition. A combination of spray and pastel paintings should depict plant motifs.
“It’s as if it’s about some natural secret, some structures that appear outside, for example, a city or outside some urban culture, so they awaken, for example, some special imagination that exists in that nature or in the landscape,” explained Karel Štědrý, the author of the paintings.
The paintings are complemented by glass and ceramic vases by Jakub Berdych Karpelis.
“We made such a selection of those things that it was related to the name Botanica and somewhere it hit those Karl’s paintings. I sometimes use old cut vases as such, which I reshape in various ways, or shapes that are relatively notorious,” Jakub Berdych Karpelis, author of glass and ceramic exhibits, described his work.
“I would like to invite all those interested to come to us in Prague 1, here in Gallery 1. I think that everyone who comes will like the exhibition, especially here in the last days, when one should relax and enjoy relax,” said David Bodeček, deputy mayor of Prague 1.
The entire exhibition is made up of Kristýna Šnajdrová’s floral creations. She put her flower compositions together directly in the exhibition spaces so that they fit properly into the whole concept. The exhibition will run until 23.12.
