Styria
Styria is a beautiful state of Austria. It occupies the south-eastern part of the country, and its neighbours are Slovenia and the Austrian states Upper Austria, Salzburg, Carinthia, Lower Austria and Burgenland. The main city of the region is Graz, which is also the capital of the state. Styria is formally divided into three smaller parts. Upper Styria is mountainous and here are the most beautiful woods of the state. The other parts are West Styria, situated to the west of Graz and East Styria, lying to the east of the capital. The fascinating nature of the state gives its nickname the “Green Province”. Wonderful for a relaxing holiday, Styria offers excellent skiing opportunities and all kinds of outdoor activities.
