Salzburg
Salzburg is one of the states of Austria. It lies on the picturesque area around the banks of the Salzach River. The city of Salzburg, which is the capital of the state, is an architectural treasure by itself, revealing excellent examples of the Baroque style. Very impressive is the old part of the town. Here visitors can enjoy marvellous views of the city from the attractive Festung Hohen Salzburg fortress. One of the most famous landmarks of the city is Salzburg Dom. Breath taking is the Schloss Mirabell, with gorgeous gardens, the work of the talented architect Lukas von Hildebrandt. Salzburg is often called “the city of Mozart”, who was born here. Every year thousands of people come to the region to learn more about the life of famous composer.
