Razgrad
Occupying the north-eastern part of Bulgaria, the province of Razgrad is the successor of a Roman settlement, which spread out from a tiny village at the river of Beli Lom. The area has a predominantly Turkish population, who settled here during Ottoman rule. One can visit the 19th Century Varosha complex, a number of architectural artifacts, and a vast number of 19th Century churches and bridges. The province's major town, Razgrad, also has an important clock tower, a regular building project of the National Revival period, where one can spot the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque, a 16th Century structure which still remains incomplete.
