Sofia City
Home to the country's capital and set in Bulgaria's largest valley, the Sofia Valley, this province is locked between the massif of Stara Planina and the mountains of Lyulin, Vitosha and Sredna Gora. Being home to Sofia, the country's largest city with a population of 1,300,000, the area boasts a very robust economy. It incorporates the Kremikovtsi steel complex, the lead plants of Sofia and Novi Iskar, and several factories for the electronics and chemical industries.
