Varna
Yet another province related to the Black Sea, Varna offers a plethora of options for a holiday. Being organised around the country's largest seaside resort and industrial centre on the Coast, the province is easily the second-largest in Bulgaria. Its major town, Varna, is often referred to as the Marine Capital of Bulgaria, and is clearly the province's most developed spot. Apart from tourism, the town is an academic hub, a seaport and resort, and holds the official headquarters of the Bulgarian Navy. The vicinity is comprised of a multitude of small towns and village resorts, with vast sandy beaches and remarkably unspoilt nature. Although urban planning has caused the marine landscape to deteriorate in recent years, Varna is still among the better holiday options on the Bulgarian seaside.
