Vratsa
Set in north-western Bulgaria, this province borders the Danube and Romania to the north and the province of Sofia to the south. Apart from its major town, bearing the name of the entire province, other notable settlements include Borovan, Byala Slatina, Kozloduy, Krivodol, Mezdra and Oryahovo. This vast territory, though largely rural, has several excellent recreational facilities, and contains the well-known Vrachanski Karst Reserve, Ledenika Cave and the Vratsa Gorge. While visiting, one can use the main town as a base to explore the Natural Park Vrachanski Balkan, Ponora Cave near the village of Chiren, the famous God's Bridges, comprising a natural rocky formation, the Thracian fortification Borovanska Mogila, and the waterfall of Skaklya.
