Olomouc Region
The region of Olomouc is situated in the Eastern Czech Republic, and more specifically in the large historical region of Moravia. To the north, it shares a common border with Poland, while the rest of it is surrounded by the domestic regions of Moravian-Silesia, Zlin, South Moravia and Pardubice. Much of its territory is occupied by the mountain range Hruby Jesenik, which is the second-highest mountain in the country. This hilly area with low mountain is a beloved tourist destination, thanks to its easy accessibility and immaculate nature. The moss lakes in the Rejviz Natural Reserve are among the most beautiful and idyllic spots in the whole region. Many caves and impressive waterfalls lend even more attractiveness to the area. Sports fans will be delighted by the long network of perfectly maintained cycling routes, as well as the number of sports facilities. Those who prefer cultural attractions will discover the charm of the castles and aristocratic mansions in the countryside. The capital, Olomouc, is remarkable for its architectural masterpieces and spectacular squares, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
