Bourgogne
Bourgogne, or Burgundy, is still one of the richest regions in France. It begins 100 km south of Paris and spreads down to Lyon. Originally, it was part of Holland, Luxembourg, Flanders and Belgium. The landscape is a mixture of forests, farmland and the vineyards of Cote d’Or. Some world-famous wines are produced in Burgundy, including two of the most popular wines in France, Beaujolais and Chablis. That's why the region is a paradise for wine lovers. The local cuisine combines rarely used ingredients, with some original recipes such as snails stuffed with garlic and shallots, boeuf bourguignon (beef stew in red wine) and pochouse (fish stew with white wine).
