Limousin
Limousin is the least populated region in France. It's well-preserved and a haven for tourists seeking a break. On its green forested hills are scattered old churches and castles, along with bastides and charming villages. For people who enjoy walking, riding and practicing water sports, there's a lot to do here. It's often called ‘France profonde’ (meaning the “heart of France”). Another way to describe the region is to call it the gateway between the industrious north and the light-hearted southern Mediterranean. The locals in Limousin are proud of the local food, based on beef, lamb and pork meat, and they believe in good traditional farming methods.
