Midi-Pyrénées
The Midi-Pyrénées is a large region in the southwest of France, lying between Aquitaine to the west and Languedoc-Roussillon to the east. It consists of eight departments, each of them with its own strong features. The landscape is mountainous both to the south and the north. The Causses, which is a high plateau territory, cover part of the northeast. The scenery is a combination of plains with hillocks, moors, pine woods, sandy stretches, plateaus, little valleys and dense forests. There are a lot of birds and small wild animals which feed on the juniper and thyme growing here.
