Rhône-Alpes
The French region of Rhône-Alpes is in the north of Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, in the southeastern part of France. Its eastern parts border Italy and Switzerland. The whole region and especially the departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie have the most beautiful scenery in France. Its history goes back to 2,000 years ago, and today it combines with modern technology. There are remains from the Gallo-Roman culture, the Medieval period, Romanesque art, Renaissance monuments, and contemporary art as well. The local cuisine is great, and uses local products. The local cheeses, Bresse chicken, traditional dishes and wines (such as Beaujolais and Côtes-du-Rhône) deserve your attention.
