Bavaria
Bavaria
Bavaria has the biggest territory in Germany, located in the southeastern part of the country. The capital of the state is Munich. In fact, it is a state within the state. Visitors can see a variety of beautiful lakes, dense forests and some of the peaks of the Alps here. The highest mountain in Germany, Zugspitze, is also here, at the border with Austria. Some of the lakes worth visiting are the Chiemsee, the Starnberger See and the Tegernsee. Swimming, hiking and cycling enthusiasts will find perfect conditions for their hobbies. Other features of the region are its unspoilt nature, healthy and clean air, many cultural monuments and the good attitude of its inhabitants. The numerous lakes, national parks and conservation areas are attractive for holidaymakers and lovers of sports activities. People who enjoy history and sightseeing should see its Medieval castles, small towns, fabulous palaces and Baroque churches. The city centres offer possibilities for traditional festivals and even opera events.
