Hamburg
Hamburg is the second-largest city in Germany, and the second-smallest federal state. It's a real cultural and commercial metropolis, situated at the place where the rivers Elbe, Alster and Bille join into one, about 50 km southeast of the estuary mouth of the river Elbe on the North Sea. The city-state borders Lower-Saxony in the south and Schleswig-Holstein in the north. Hamburg is a large port, as well. The city was founded about twelve centuries ago, and has rich history. Tourists can enjoy idyllic lakes, well-maintained parks, splendid hotels, restaurants with exquisite cuisine, art galleries, green city gardens and many bridges. There are examples of various architectural styles which greatly combine with modern materials such as glass, steel and bricks. The churches downtown are fabulous examples of the Baroque style. There are several hotels in the Renaissance style.
