Bács-Kiskun
Bacs-Kiskun is the largest Hungarian county in terms of territory. It's situated in the southern part of the country, on the border with Serbia. To the west, the county borders Baranya, Tolna and Fejer, with Pest to the north and Csongrad and Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok to the east. The land is predominantly flat, a major part of the region being occupied by the Southern Great Plain. Danube and Tisza are the main rivers, which have a great effect on the economic life, transport and tourism in Bacs-Kiskun. The whole area is renowned for its natural beauty, which is preserved in Kiskunsag National Park, a biosphere reserve with plenty of lakes and lots of migratory birds. The county is among the most successful agricultural regions in Hungary, and is also known for its top-quality beer production. In cultural terms, the area is no less diverse and fascinating, as it houses the Serbian minority in the country plus a significant number of Germans. This variety is best seen and felt in the customs in the villages. The county seat, Kecskemet, entices visitors with several spectacular examples of Medieval architecture and a remarkable choice of bars, cafes and restaurants.
