Campania
Campania is in many ways the heart of Italy. Warm, mysterious and welcoming, it is a land that offers warm blue seas, part of the most dramatic Italian coastline, rich history, a lot of magical islands and sunsets that someone would never forget. The region, which name means ‘countryside’ in Latin, has 5 provinces: Avellino, Benevento, Caserta, Naples and Salerno. The cave of Sibyl at Cumae is a famous tourist attraction. Worth visiting are the sites from Roman times Pompeii (Pompei) and Herculaneum (Ercolaneo). Other interesting and oft visited places are the volcano of Mount Vesuvius, the Amalfi Coast, the Greek temples at Paestum and the islands of Capri and Ischia in the Bay of Naples.
