Latium
Lazio, called also Latinum, is a hilly region in central Italy. The landscape there is various. There are pastures and woods, valleys and hills, lakes and rivers and about 25 nature parks and reserves. The landscape has been formed as result of the eruption of four volcanoes which showered the area with lava. This region is around Rome. It can be visited at any time of the year because of its many attractions, rich cultural heritage and the impressive charm of the Eternal City. Tourists all over the world come to see the Roman ruins, the Renaissance squares, the museums, fountains, piazzas and Baroque churches.
