Molise
Molise is a beautiful region in Italy, situated in the southern part of the country. It is a marvellous land, with dramatic hills and breathtaking mountains. Campobasso is the major city and the capital of the state. Here visitors can walk along the historic streets and feel the spirit of bygone times by visiting the Monforte castle, dating from the 15th Century. The mountain landscape assures excellent conditions for winter sports. There are several ski resorts, including the well known Campitello. There are wonderful monasteries, churches and castles in Molise, which are worth seeing. Especially impressive is the ancient sea village Termoli, situated on the coastline of the Adriatic Sea. Here the tourists can take a boat to the Termiti islands.
