Trentino-South Tyrol
Trentino-South Tyrol is a dual region, bordering Austria and Switzerland. It is amazingly beautiful, split into two distinct provinces. It does not have access to the sea, one of the few Italian regions without the sea for its border. The territory is mainly mountainous, including the majestic Dolomite group with several small lakes. It has been under Austrian domain for Centuries that is why in the northern part they speak German and the region is officially recognized as bilingual. The tourist industry is very well developed there. The region is famous for the production of wine and apples, for its winter resorts where winter sports lovers can find everything they need. One of the most famous resorts is Madonna di Campiglio.
