Dobele
Dobele is a district in Southern Latvia, on the border with Lithuania. In addition, it borders Saldus to the west, Tukums to the north and Jelgava to the east. Seemingly endless fields with flowers and dazzling green pastures invite tourists to take unforgettable walks through the countryside. In the marvellous Lilac Garden, you can admire the biggest selection of lilacs in the world. The terrain of Dobele is perfectly flat, furrowed by countless rivers and canals. The region is widely recognized as the most fertile part of the country. Not surprisingly, the whole economy is concentrated around agriculture. There are only two settlements with the status of towns, the administrative centre of Dobele and the border town, Auce.
