Jēkabpils
Jēkabpils
Jekabpils is a district at the border between Latvia and Lithuania. It's surrounded by the districts of Aizkraukle to the west, Madona to the north and Preili and Daugavpils to the east. The landscape of the area is determined by the river Daugava, which divides Jekabpils into two parts. The administrative centre with the same name is the eighth-largest town in the country, and offers limited tourist attractions such as Cruczeborch Castle, built in 1237. There are two more towns in the district, namely Akniste and Viesite.
