Limbaži
The district of Limbazi is situated in the northern part of Latvia, surrounded by Cesis, Valmiera and Riga. It also borders Estonia to the north and has a long outlet on the Gulf of Riga. This geographical location contributes to the importance of the region in terms of transport, tourism and agriculture. The administrative centre is Limbazi, a small provincial town whose main landmark is a Medieval castle of the same name, from the 13th Century when it served as a seat for the archibishop of Riga. Periodically, the town hosts significant cultural events and festivals.
