Ventspils
Ventspils is a district in the western part of Latvia, on the Kurzeme Peninsula. This is one of the leading areas in all aspects of the economy. The administrative centre of Ventspils, named after the river Venta, which passes through it, is the fifth-largest city in the country. It specializes in high technologies, with a new ultra-modern park on the outskirts. Fantastic beaches along the coast attract guests for seaside holidays. The cultural programme is varied and includes everything from museums and art galleries to outdoor concerts and sports events.
