Comino
Comino is the smallest among the three islands that constitute Malta. It lies at equal distances from the much bigger Malta and Gozo, and is known for its tranquillity and spectacular land forms. Undoubtedly, the most popular spot here is the Blue Lagoon, a bay with crystal-clear turquoise waters which offers great conditions for diving, swimming and other water sports. Another highlight is the imposing St. Mary's Tower, built 600 years ago. The desolate landscape of this tiny islet has been the scene of film shooting for decades. Comino, whose steady population amounts to less than ten inhabitants, is particularly valuable as a nature reserve in which rare bird species are observed and protected.
