Donduşeni
Donduseni is one of the northernmost administrative units in Moldova. It borders Ukraine and
Soroca to the east, Drochia and Riscani to the south, Edinet to the west and Ocnita to the north.
This is considered the most picturesque part of the former Soviet Republic, occupying the parallel
valleys of the Reut River and its tributaries. There are also plenty of wooded areas that are
home to fascinating wildlife. In the middle of the village of Taul is located the largest park in the
entire country. Similar recreation facilities are to be encountered in almost all bigger settlements.
A number of museums dedicated to prominent locals will delight seekers of cultural alternatives.
The administrative centre, Donduseni, is an important station for the railway between Balti and
neighbouring Ukraine. It is the birthplace of half a dozen internationally famed artists and singers.
