South Holland
Despite its relatively modest dimensions, South Holland is by far the most populous province in the Netherlands. It's situated on the coast of the North Sea and borders the provinces of Zeeland to the south, North Brabant, Gelderland and Utrecht to the east and North Holland to the north. This region is of great political and economic importance, hosting the seat of the government in The Hague. World transportation hubs like the Rotherdam port and huge industrial complexes also contribute to the significance of the region in terms of economy. As far as culture is concerned, the programme is unrivalled in richness and diversity, especially in the multinational city of Rotherdam with its selection of theatres and museums, bustling nightlife, exquisite cuisine and endless shopping opportunities.
