Subcarpathian
The Subcarpathian region is located near the border with the Ukraine and Slovakia, in the south-eastern area of Poland. Its location on the borderland contributes to the rich cultural heritage, combing Polish elements with Ukrainian and folk traditions. Dominated with lowlands, to the south, the Supcarpathian Province gradually turns into a mountainous area. Bieszczady, the main mountain range there, are not particularly high, but it enchants with beautiful landscapes and wild secluded areas. Of special interest are towns of Przemysl, the capital with a wide range of historic sights, Baranow Sandomierski with impressive castle or Lezajsk, the centre of Polish Hasidism.
