Slovenian Istria
Slovenian Istria is a region in the southwestern end of Slovenia. The region is surrounded by Croatia to the south, Italy to the north and the regions of Goriska and Inner Carniola to the east. Istria features a short outlet on the Adriatic Sea, which serves as significant importance for the economy of the whole country. The main town of Koper is one of the busiest ports of Central Europe. The territory around the town is full of seaside resorts and long fine beaches, as well as entertainment, shopping and lively nightlife. Apart from watersports and seaside holidays, the Adriatic coast of Slovenia is suitable for cultural tourism as well. The villages and towns close to the sea are reminiscent of Venice. Slovenian Istria is also world renown for its horse breeding farms, where some of the world's most elite breeds are selected.
