Basque Country
The Basque Country is situated in the northern part of Spain, close to the border with France. It is very different from all other Spanish regions in terms of culture, which is the main sign of identity of the proud Basque people. They speak their own language, which has nothing to do with Spanish, and constantly try to gain more autonomy. Diversity is the most distinguishing feature of the area not only in cultural, but also in geographical aspect. Especially attractive are the nature parks Urkiola, Gorbeia, Valderejo, Pagoeta, Izki and Aitzkorri, as well as the numerous reserves and protected areas where guests can admire the virgin nature of the Basque Country.
