Zurich
The canton of Zurich is the most populous and arguably the most economically important canton in Switzerland. It's situated in the northern part of the country and borders Germany and Schaffhausen to the north, Thurgau and Sankt Gallen to the east, Schwyz and Zug to the south and Aargau to the west. This canton is dominated by the northern foothills of the Alps in its southern part, while the rest of the area is flat and extremely fertile. That's why Zurich is among the leading agricultural producers of the country. More important, however, is the industrial sector, the city of Zurich being the centre of an industrial zone stretching far beyond the borders of the canton. The main focus of tourism is scenic Lake Zurichsee. Zurich is a multicultural and multinational agglomeration with an abundance of heritage sites, museums and modern forms of entertainment, such as shopping and nightlife. Another interesting fact is that the biggest Swiss city was declared the city with the best quality of life in the world for the last two years.
