Londonderry
The county of Londonderry lies in the north-western corner of Northern Ireland, and borders the counties of Tyrone and Antrim, as well as the Republic of Ireland. The administrative centre of the county is the town of Londonderry, or simply Derry. It's the second-largest city in the country, and enchants visitors with its traditional atmosphere, broad palette of entertainment opportunities and many heritage sites, like the preserved Medieval city walls and the host of museums and galleries. Londonderry is a major centre of the chemical industry and new technologies. With its two university campuses, the city is also an important educational centre. The best-known tourist attractions in the county include the Mussenden Temple on the Atlantic coast, the Lough Foyle with its artificial landscape and the great number of relatively intact forests.
