Pembrokeshire
Pembrokshire occupies the westernmost part of Wales, lying on a peninsula that separates the Bristol Channel and the Cardigan Bay. Its indented coastline attracts lots of tourists, especially the area around Tenby, one of the most prestigious seaside resorts in the United Kingdom. Most of the county's territory lies within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, which offers a superb combination of long sandy beaches, vertical cliffs over the sea and gentle coastal hills covered with forests. Apart from its thriving tourism, Pembrokeshire is an important oil centre with numerous refineries and gas terminals. More than a dozen of various castles from different historical periods and in different condition, add to the appeal of the region as a destination for both active and cultural tourism. The main town Haverfordwest provides a wider range of entertainment opportunities.
