Wrexham
Wrehham is one of the 22 counties in Wales, situated in the northeastern part of the country and
surrounded in its larger part by English territory. Half of its population lives in the town of the same
name, which is also the administrative centre of the area. The settlement originates from the 12th
Century and boasts some exquisite historical landmarks like the imposing St Giles' Church or the
Bersham Ironworks. Numerous monuments, museums, art galleries, parks and gardens make the
town an attractive place for various types of holiday. In the countryside the most striking landmark
is the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which carries the Llangollen Canal over the valley of the river Dee
and is currently nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage List.
