Museum of Human Anatomy and Embryology
The Museum of Human Anatomy and Embryology provides a comprehensive showcase of human anatomy and embryology. The museum is set in the faculty-hospital campus of Erasmus and mostly aimed at Medicine students of Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
The museum exhibits real anatomical preparations, as well as plastic, with a particular emphasis on embryos and fetuses. Even though some of the embryos are normal, many of them present several congenital abnormalities. The site also features pieces of compared and veterinary anatomy, anatomical models of wax and plaster, and pieces illustrating pathologies. The multimedia room offers consultation via different computer programs.
