Elisabeth Park
Park Elisabeth is one of the parks in Brussels that have its particular symmetrical shape. Its layout includes a double avenue that provides the length of a suitable walk; the possibilities of a nice relaxing stroll are extended by the bordering lateral lawns with tree and bush groups. Sycamore maple trees border the main double path on the side of the Avenue du Panthéon and the beginning of Leopold II Boulevard is surrounded by magnificent plane trees.
In the west, the park borders the area of the National Holy Heart Basilica, which is not only a masterpiece of the 20th Century architecture but attracts visitors with its newly inaugurated Museum of Religious Art. About 250 paintings and sculptures from the contemporary art collection of the Bruges diocese are exhibited there. Elisabeth Park offers also more attractions such as the adventure playground for the children.
