British Council
The British Council is a non-ministerial department of the British government, specialising in educational opportunities. The British Council is a public corporation incorporated by royal charter. It is registered as a charity in
Englandand was started in 1934. Its patrons are Queen Elizabeth II and the former leader of the UK Labour Party, Lord Kinnock. Martin Davidson is the Chief Executive who was appointed in April 2007.
The British Council has a network that extends to 233 locations in 107 countries and territories.
The institution works in numerous areas including economy, culture and science. The Council cooperates with local institutions of Brussels, running projects concerning EU.
The office is located in the heart of European Brussels very close to Place du Luxembourg on the corner of the lovely rue du Trône and rue d'Idalie. It is easy to reach by public transport. The offices are open for its students who wish to register or study on one of the public English courses or for people who meet with a member of the Europe project team.
