Centre International de Formation Européenne
The CIFE offers educational and research activities in relation with European unification, regionalism, federalism as well as changes within the structures of contemporary society. This international centre receives the support of the European Union and other international organisations along with numerous national governments and regional or local authorities, foundations, and private contributors. The International Centre for European Training was founded in 1954 and has its headquarters located in
Nice.
The CIFE organises seminars in various European countries each year. They are intended for different socio-professional groups and lecturers. Several conferences for politicians, academics, company executives and international experts also take place every year. The CIFE may delegate lecturers to hold speeches in associations, youth movements, high schools, etc.
In 1964, CIFE founded its own post-graduate institute, the
Institute Européen des Hautes Etudes Internationales (IEHEI). It offers a graduate programme leading to an M.A. in European Studies and International Relations. The Anglophone Master's programme has a special focus in the accession of
Turkey to the European Union together with all the problems connected with this process. This programme is organised in co-operation with the University of Bahçesehir in Istanbul.
The second Master's programme – Trilingual Branch is awarded in co-operation with the
Institut für Europäische Politik in Berlin, the University La Sapienza in
Rome and the University of Rostock. Seminars are held in both cities Rostock and Rome, a study trip to European and international organisations is a part of the programme as well.
Each year CIFE publishes a book that presents one of the biggest problem areas which challenges the European integration. The CIFE publishes also brochures on selected subjects. This brochure is acting as information for university training during seminars or conferences and it can be used to help form opinions on specific subjects.
