Centre de la Mer et des Eaux
The Centre de la Mer et des Eaux, installed in the building of the Parisian Institute of Oceanology, provides a vast and comprehensive display of the world of the oceans, offering a vast range of ocean-related material.
The site is completely dedicated to showcasing marine life, and is firmly geared towards education and environmental issues, with its exhibits striving to impose the fundamental role of marine heritage for the life on Earth. The exhibits are supplemented by presentations of models, reconstructions of marine landscapes, and feature a good range of interactive elements, plus audio-visual material.
The collections are thematically divided into sciences, technology, scale models, and aquariums. The site also organises teaching activities, group visiting, guided tours conferences, and has special facilities for disabled guests. The site also has its own Book Shop and Gift Shop, as well as a parking area.
