Domus Academy
Domus Academy in Milan is an international endeavour. It aims to enrich, promote and always keep the culture of designing fresh. The Academy is where the art and management meet.
Domus Academy (DA) was founded in Milan in 1982 to teach the students interested in the Italian design and fashion. DA has earned its high status and now offers post-graduate training and research laboratories in industrial design.
DA won the Compasso d'Oro in 1994 “for the career for the quality of its teaching and publishing, for its constant attention to borderline themes, from humanization of technology to exploring the relationship between design and fashion from reflection on the sociology of design to design management and to design of services.“
The library has more than 3,700 titles divided into 5 macro areas including: fashion, architecture design, visual art, essays and Domus Academy editions. Also, more than 5,000 magazines with historical publications of the most important national and international magazines are available.
The Domus Academy offers also tailor-made courses for companies and institutions and a range of summer sessions. There are practical courses for beginners, students and graduates as well as professionals. Two- and four-week design course at Central Saint Martins in London, NABA and Domus Academy (Milan) are offered. Both cities are synonymous with great design. London and Milan have some of the best fashion and retail experiences, graphic and product design studios, phenomenal interiors and architecture as well as headquarters of the top design companies.
