British Council
The British Council is one of the UK Government’s non-ministerial Departments. Since 1934 it specialises in educational opportunities. The British Council is a public corporation incorporated by royal charter and is registered as a charity in England. Its Chair is Lord Kinnock (former leader of the Labour party in UK) and one of its patrons is Queen Elizabeth II herself. The British Council in Milan offers a variety of high quality courses of English, exams and activities for academic purposes, if you want to improve your career prospects or simply for the pleasure of learning.
The British-Italian partnership programme is a joint initiative of the Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca (together with the Conferenza dei Rettori) and the British Council. The aim of the programme is to support projects between research groups in publicly funded institutions providing higher education, but not exclusively, in both countries. The programme provides funding primarily for collaborative visits in the two countries. The subject areas of the programme change every year with the publication of the call for proposals each spring.

The British Council in Milan is an open exam centre for Cambridge ESOL exams. The new ILEC (International Legal English Certificate) meets the requirements of the employers who want to know that the people they employ can speak English fluently in order to communicate with clients and professionals in other countries, and at the same time, law students and recently qualified lawyers who want to show employers that they have these skills.
