Palazzo Cini
The Cini Palazzo is a marvellous 16th-century building located between the Peggy Guggenheim Museum and the Academia Galleries. It used to be the residence of Count Vitorio Cini, and after his death it was turned into a museum. The Cini Palazzo Museum displays a rich collection of the former owner, including paintings of the Tuscan school, ceramics, Murano chandelliers, goldsmith works, furnishings and other art objects.
The Cini Palace dates back to the 16th Century and is an impressive museum of lifestyle in itself. The first piano nobile, the furnishings, the ambiance – everything reminds of the authentic Cini residence. The collections that took a lifetime to gather are now exhibited to impress audiences and enchant art lovers. After the death of Count Vitoria Cini in 1977, his daughter Yana decided to donate his collections and the galleries they were arranged in, and thus one of the most interesting museums in Venice was born. The impressive collection of paintings features works by Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Pisano and others. The second floor of the building is used for temporary exhibitions.
