Giardini Pubblici
For true nature lovers, the Public Gardens to the east of Venice are areal must. The stunning park is picturesquely situated along the banks of the Schiavoni River, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. At the same time, the calm green area is only a short distance from the centre with all the major hotels and tourist attractions. You can even try any of the Venetian water buses that can quickly take you to the Public Gardens.
Apart from the numberless eye-catching areas and marvellous promenades, the spot abounds in leisure and recreation facilities, including playgrounds and children's corners. Special attention should be paid to the statue of Garibaldi at the edge of the park. In the summer months the Public Gardens feature a rich and diverse cultural programme, whose highlight is the International Festival of Modern Art that is held every two years.
