The current head of the College is Dr Frances Corner. The former head of the College, Sandra Holtby was awarded in 2006 one of the most excellent order - the OBE (meaning Officer of the Order of the British Empire). The College’s Paper Patterns collection has been accumulated over the years. It numbers approximately 800 dating from the 1920s to the present day. In an effort to safe the collection and to make it more accessible, it has been catalogued and digitised. The collection allows to be searched by date or decade; the name of the pattern publishers e.g. 'Vogue', 'McCall' etc.; the type of garment e.g. skirt, trousers etc or the name of the designer (where specified). The images and data available in the Paper Patterns collection are copyright of The London College of Fashion. Those collections may be used for private research and study purposes only. Students are advised wherever possible to book an day to visit the college. If this is not possible the Marketing Dept for London College of Fashion will provide you with information about LCF and courses.
