In Toulouse, the implementation of a ZFE was done without delay. The pink city activated this device on January 1, 2022, without however sanctioning recalcitrant motorists. Following the holding of a first interministerial committee on October 25, 2022, the Toulouse ZFE must follow a precise schedule in order to be reinforced.
So, what is the Toulouse ZFE schedule? What perimeter does it concern, what is the plan of this Toulouse ZFE? Which Crit’Air vignettes are concerned by this anti-pollution device? What fines are payable in the event of non-compliance with the Toulouse ZFE? Here’s what to remember.
What is the timetable for the ZFE set up in Toulouse?
Since January 1, 2022, the ZFE has been activated in Toulouse. It only concerns Crit’Air 5 or unclassified vans, vans and trucks. On September 1, 2022, Crit’Air 4 utility vehicles and trucks were added to the system. As of January 1, 2023, all Crit’Air 4, 5 and unclassified vehicles are prohibited in the ZFE. Then, on January 1, 2024, Crit’Air 3 are also prohibited.
Which Crit’Air vignettes are affected by the Toulouse ZFE?
From January 1, 2023 and excluding collector’s vehicles, these are all non-classified cars (put into service before 1996), Crit’Air 5 (diesel before 2001) and Crit’Air 4 (diesel before 2006) which are prohibited in the ZFE of Toulouse. In 2024, the Crit’Air 3 (diesel from before 2011 and petrol from before 2006) which are persona non grata in this same ZFE.
What is the plan for the ZFE in Toulouse?

As this map shows, the Toulouse ZFE encompasses a perimeter delimited by the Arc-en-Ciel bypass, the A64 motorway, the A61 motorway, the East bypass, the A68 motorway, the A62 motorway, the A620, the A621 motorway, the Fil d’Ariane and the A624 motorway. All these axes are not included in the ZFE. Certain axes such as the Western ring road and the road to Auch are however included in the ZFE. According to our colleagues from La Dépêche du Midi, this represents a perimeter of 72 km2.
What is the fine for non-compliance with the ZFE in Toulouse?
No gantry, no camera and no radar are yet installed to verbalize offenders at the Toulouse ZFE. But the Ministry of Ecological Transition is working on the subject. In any case, in the event of an inspection, motorists who do not comply with the ZFE may receive a class 3 fine, the amount of which is €68.
