OPIS HOTELU
The pousada acquired its name from a young man by the name of Barao Forrester (1809-1862), who also plays an important part in the history of port. He was a cartographer and artist and was a purist in his desire to keep port as a wine unfortified by brandy. In the Pousada there is a drawing room, a central dining room with mirrored doors, a card room on the lower garden level as well as a bar with a wonderful collection of port. 08/07 mp
